History

K. E. Carmel School Sarisha was originally established by the CMI fathers at Basant Kunj in the year 2003 under the able leadership of Rev. Fr. Louis Kandankary CMI and it was later shifted to Ratneshwarpur.Rev. Fr. Ludovic Pathical was the Manager of the School then. The present campus in Sarisha was established in the year 2008. On 30th June 2008 Rev. Fr. Kuncharia Pathil CMI, the Provincial of Trivandrum blessed the new school building. Rev. Fr. Joseph Puthenpura CMI, the Sub Regional Superior inaugurated the new session and blessed the school office on 4th May 2009.

Rev. Fr. Joshy Mayamparampil CMI undertook all the charges as the Secretary in 2008 and Rev. Dr. Paul Thamaracherry CMI was the first principal of the school. Charges were handed over to Rev Fr. Biju Palamattam CMI in the year 2011 as the next principal. Rev. Fr. Louis Kandankary CMI became the Secretary of K. E. Carmel Group of Schools in the year 2015. At present, the school is under the supervision of Rev. Dr. Paul Thamaracherry CMI as the Secretary and Rev. Fr. Johnson Kadamthottu CMI as the Principal of the school

Kuriakose Elias Carmel School, Sarisha is the second educational institution of the CMI congregation in West Bengal and is affiliated to I.C.S.E. New Delhi, Reg. No. WB 414 / 2019. It is a unit of the educational ministry of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), under St. Joseph’s Province, Tiruvananthapuram and is owned and managed by CMI Dharmanivas Educational Trust (DET). Being convinced that the educational process is the most important human resource development, we open our institution to all, irrespective of sex, caste or faith.

K. E. Carmel School Sarisha imparts the highest and the noblest form of education to the students in and around Sarisha and the Diamond Harbour area. It has been a boon for the people in the remote areas where an English medium school was a far- cry. The school caters the best education with the most modern techniques and boasts of a class no less in comparison to an elite school of the city.
