School Captain's Speech

It is indeed a matter of pride and ecstasy to have been appointed as the School Captain & been given the unique opportunity to render my service to the school. I clearly remember the first day I walked through the gates of K. E. Carmel C.M.I. School, Sarisha, dressed in a new school uniform that was slightly long. I was incredibly excited as well as nervous to walk into the big school where I hardly knew anyone. However in my first few years, I realized that there was something special about being a K. E. Carmelite. Over the years at K. E. Carmel, I have tried things, I didn’t think I would be good at, but was happy to know that I wasn’t bad in them at all. At K. E. Carmel we are exposed to taking up challenges & meeting them successfully with utmost pride. As a well acclaimed academic institution set up by the CMI Congregation of Fathers from Kerala, KECS provides an all round development like none other, that empowers and motivates students to be the best individuals they can be. It curates an environment that nurtures the holistic education of the students to become confident, caring, conscientious and imbibed with social and moral values. When I walk past the gates of KECS as a student for the last time after my board exams, I do not know what I’ ll remember the most, of my school days. Perhaps, it will be the genuine interaction with the teachers who care much about our learning and wellbeing or visiting ‘Ashabari’ as a part of our SUPW projects along with our class teachers or maybe it will be the chatting with my friends between the classes, the dance rehearsals, the on stage performance in the Annual Day Celebration, the long recess spent at the Canteen or the Class Room Birthday celebrations. As a Captain of the school, I aim to pass on the values, lessons and experiences that KECS has gifted to us over the years to conquer unexplored heights and glorify the vision of all Carmelites. I am truly honoured to be a part of the KECS family and even more so, I am incredibly proud and always will be, to call myself a K. E. Carmelite.
